We are all linked together. We Are All Connected. The existence of a primal web of energy that connects our bodies, the world, and everything in the universe opens the door to a powerful and mysterious possibility, making us one rainbow nation on this planet.
During the Cosmos season, which stretches from November to March here in South Africa, every conceivable vase in my house is filled with them. Here I placed them in a large blue enamel cooking pot on my kitchen table as I had picked so many next to the road-side that al my vases were full!

Out in the country, close by the roadside, there was a country-house. Certainly you yourself have once seen it. Before it is a little garden with flowers and palings which are painted green. Close by it, by the ditch in the midst of the most beautiful green grass, grew a little daisy. (Read more by clicking on the link)

South Africa is famous for its sunshine. It’s a relatively dry country, with an average annual rainfall of about 464mm (compared to a world average of about 860mm). The high mountains of the Cape and the Drakensberg in KwaZulu-Natal usually get snow in winter.
It’s mid-winter here in South Africa, so I couldn’t resist doing some Spring blossoms, hoping for warmer weather which will soon be upon us.

Creative people, however, need to be stimulated, inspired, nudged, cross-pollinated, and occasionally kicked in the ass. Art both entertains and inspires at the same time.

Get super-effortless style down to a tee with this cool collection of t-shirt dresses. Laid-back luxe is in and you can rock it from day through to night from season to season. Whether you go for a wildlife print, floral or slogan style, you’ll be sure to look hot in my super-flattering t-shirt dress.

I hope you enjoy my T-shirt dress collection, there are some really cool designs! Professional service is only exceeded by professional customers. Thanks for stopping by and for being so great!

Creating peace for creativity

"The simplified life is a sanctified life,
Much more calm, much less strife.
Oh, what wondrous truths are unveiled-
Projects succeed which had previously failed.
Oh, how beautiful life can be
Beautiful simplicity."

Creating Peace again...

I've decided to simplify some parts of my life this week. We often create such complications and attach ourselves to so much stuff that it is very difficult for our light to shine through. And of course, with so much complication and so much attachment, we keep telling ourselves we have no time to be still and no time to nourish the talents and creativity which we have been given, no time to sketch and paint. Maybe next year...

Yet, within us, we still hear our inner voice calling us "go on ... take another step ...".

Sometimes we respond within ourselves "I will ...I will ... when I've enough time or enough money or know enough people or when I'm good enough or ..." and so on. It comes down to one thing, one simple step - make a committed decision.

Once made, you begin to focus and the universe responds to help you. Ah, but you don't know where to start? If that's the case, it's time to simplify and create space. In that quiet, still space, listen to your heart. Let your heart guide your way and trust the guidance you receive.

So, clear out the cupboard, the wardrobe, the shed, the computer, your studio, whatever - if you haven't used it or worn it for a year then give it to someone who will use it or wear it or chuck it out! Get rid of all unnecessary commitments, like too many blogs and subscriptions to too many newsletters.

Make time and space for yourself - I dare you!

Coming soon! The A-line dress

I’m very excited to announce the A-Line Dress, the first all-over printed product available on the RedBubble marketplace. The A-Line dress is a simple loose-fitting trapeze dress constructed of two all-over printed panels.

Made from lightweight, silky, woven polyester fabric, the A-Line Dress can be worn to events that require either casual or fancy-pants attire. Well, not actual fancy PANTS, per se. It is a dress after all. But you get the drift.

Some full-bleed printed products like graphic t-shirt dresses and contrast tanks are currently available, which is super cool, but the A-Line Dress is a bit different. Unlike the T-shirt dress and the contrast tank, the A-line dress is printed both back and front. This style makes for a great canvas to showcase my artwork and has a loose and flowy fit to suit customers from all over the world.

Product Features:
    •    100% Polyester full bleed front and back print
    •    Sublimation printed allowing fabric to stay soft and drapey
    •    Made and printed in the USA

So please feel welcome to stop by again and catch up on the release of this fabulous product!

Get inspiration from Nature

As an artist, inspiration is sometimes hard to come by. I do a lot of painting and sketching from memory and from my imagination, but sometimes my Muse just doesn't want to play along. that's when I turn to nature for inspiration.

Taking your sketch book outside or setting up your easel in the garden is a great way to stimulate inspiration - from the simple curve of a leaf to grasses gently blowing in the breeze, the topics are endless - the neighbour's rickety fence, a lonely sunflower, the puppy stretched out on the lawn, the sheen of the rooster's feathers as he struts by - all it takes is some imagination and seeing the beauty around you.

The sea and coast holds a great fascination for most of us, and walking the beach can unearth the most wonderful treasures, from smooth glass to round pebbles, pieces of driftwood and, of course, the most collectible, shells. Unfortunately for these wondrous living creatures, this spells doom, as people will go to great lengths and pay hefty prices, for these little creatures, which results in the harvesting of a living infrastructure which will not last forever.

And living proof of this is the fact that, walking the beach does not often turn up many shells, and in some areas, none at all. I have sketched some of my beach finds (from many years ago!), but nothing can portray the beauty of some of these as well as the living specimen.

The beautiful "Stepped Plough Shell" - a truly lucky find!

Watching the seagulls drifting on the breeze, ever keeping an eye open for a possible tit-bit, is one of my greatest joys. They effortlessly hover on elegant wings, alert eyes not missing a single move of anything on the beach or edge of the water. One such gull was hovering over me on my last visit to the coast, his beady eye a black pin-hole, staring straight at me, evaluating the possibility of another piece of bread being tossed up into the air.

A simple fisherman's boat, brightly coloured on a calm stretch of misty water, can offer a startling contrast, one which caught my eye at Hartebeespoort Dam in the North-West Province (South Africa), not too far from where we live. It was early evening after the main rush of tourists and visitors had calmed down and the guy was gently drifting with the slow current, trailing his fishing rod. I asked my husband to stop the car and hurriedly did a quick sketch, noting the colours of the boat in the border of the sketch for later reference.

Taking a walk in your garden or a nearby park can reveal real treasures of inspiration - I came upon this tree in a friend's garden and the play of light and shadow was fascinating. I had a bit more time to sketch this and could capture more detail.

Take time for yourself - Women's Chiffon top

All these images are available printed on various products like framed prints, greeting cards, postcards, men's and women's T-shirts, chiffon tops, skirts and scarves, leggings, phone, tablet and laptop skins and covers, throw pillows, duvet covers, mugs, tote bags, studio pouches, drawstring bags, stickers, spiral notebooks and hard cover journals.

Thank you for the visit and enjoy your day!
